If your old key is snapped, or your barrels have been damaged, and you still have the original keys, you can remove the transponder chips from your old ignition keys and insert them into this new Vespa GTS keys set. Install the new barrel, and then you will have a working lock set again.

Many key sets sold for the Vespa scooters do not have a space for the transponder chip to be installed, so they cannot be used because the Vespa GTS has an immobilizer, and the immobilizer antenna looks for a unique code from the transponder inside the key before allowing the engine to start. Our ignition lock key set has that space for the transponder chips so is suitable for the Vespa GTS , GTV, GT and Granturismo.
